Example Class: Warm up and Stretch - 10 minutes - Warming up the body is essential before using muscles. It also prevents injuries. Music plays a big part of our program. Children love to move and dance. Small motor equipment is to enhance our warm up activities. Basic body positions are taught and reviewed on a weekly basis. Certain positions are essential toteaching more complex gymnastic skills. Rotations - 12 minutes - There are five events: Vault ( Trapezoid) Bars, Beam, Floor, and Trampoline. Each week we will experience two of the events. We work in a rotation system. The children rotate around the equipment in a system where each child stays busy. This allows the children to continue practicing on skills and strength conditioning. Instead of spending time standing in lines.Fun Time - 2-3 minutes - This time is dedicated to a group structured activity. This might include a fun game that involved strength training and FUN!We keep in mind our philosophy - to teach gymnastics and fitness in a fun safe environment while raising the child’s self-esteem. Skill of the Week - 10 minutes Each week we focus on a particular skill. This skill is part of the rotation the instructor guides and provide positive feedback for the students. BYE BYE TIME - 5 minutes This time is reserved for a fun activity. We always play a special song to teach children how to mix listening skills with basic locomotion skills leaping, hopping, skipping, jumping, running, and more. Children receive a coloring sheet , stamp, and parent information update sheet. |
